This month, let’s take a look at a collection with a slightly more attainable price point than our review of the Dolce & Gabbana menswear collection. Now that it’s finally getting cold, I’m going to be getting my menswear inspiration from J.Crew’s fall/winter collection.
I’ve just started broadening my neckline horizons to include turtlenecks this year. In the past, I’ve avoided turtlenecks because I don’t love the sensation of having a collar touching my throat, but I started feeling like I was missing out on a good fall/winter look, so I’m just conditioning myself to get used to it. I love these cable knit turtlenecks from J.Crew — now that I’m a turtleneck person, I might stop by the store and try on this red one.
I also love this camel-colored wool overcoat (I’m on the hunt for a camel coat — though I think I’m going to go for something longer) and corduroy trousers. The trousers look fine cuffed, but I’m not sure I would wear them with these sneakers. Then again, I’m never really a sneakers person.
THIS is an example of cuffed pants that I really like. I think they look really good with these boots. I also love this sweater. I don’t usually like wearing orange, but if they have a nice forest green option, I’ll be adding this one to my cart too.
I really really want this plaid coat. You’ll definitely find me in the store trying this on. Also, side note: I’m loving J.Crew’s use of some more, ah, distinguished male models. Those salt and pepper beards are doing it for me.
I. Love. These. Pants. I don’t normally buy menswear pants for myself the way I do with sweaters or coats, but I’m going to be encouraging every person in my life who wears menswear to get a pair of these. I especially like them with the winter white sweater. Also, we see the silk cravat again! I like this wrap-around way of styling it.
That’s all I have for you today! Just a quick gush about J.Crew’s menswear to inspire you to keep things cute as the weather gets cold, no matter what your gender is!
